Hey all, so I though I’d update with some news most of you have probably already heard since I’m a bit late with posting it. Perks has been given an R rating (rightfully so I believe). But right now it’s being appealed, I guess they want it to be PG-13 so more people can watch it. Personally I hope they just leave it R and don’t cut out all the important parts. We will see...

I can’t say much since I legally can’t publicly announce any details about the contents of the film (or something along those lines). But let me just say it was extremely amazing. It’s my favorite book, and as a fan of it, it was very satisfying. All I can really say is, look forward to it!
besides for the not so amazing adverstising (or lack there of) its...

Ezra talks Perks
Let’s talk about the next film you have coming out, “The Perks of Being a Wallflower.”
I think that if the magic of the product is in any way, even marginally, representative of the magic of the experience of creating that story, with that group of kids out there in Pittsburgh, then it’s on. It’ll be fantastic.

Perks Update
Just wanted to let you all know that it seems that there’s a possibility that the movie has been pushed back to a Fall release instead of Spring.

Hey guys, I’m going to be flying to NYC for the long weekend and I don’t think I’ll have internet connection so I won’t be able to update you guys if anything happens over the weekend. As much as I want this trailer to come out already if it comes out whilst I’m gone I’d want to throw a fit haha. But anyway if anything does come up over the weekend I’ll be...

stoddardtemple asked: You keep getting this but I want to reiterate how wonderful this tumblr is. I love seeing art made from quotes, people's photographs, and production stills. Perks was a seminal part of my high school experience and integral in my getting through it in one piece (perhaps largely because it also introduced me to The Smiths at the perfect time). I read it because it referenced Rocky Horror and...

Anonymous asked: First off, I love how much you actually know about the book, and are not some fangirl in love with how sensitive Charlie was. I'm so happy someone like you is running this blog. Anyways, I just have a small question: where can I read the script of the film. If you know of course. :)

aprilrush replied to your post: If Charlie was molested by Aunt Helen, why does he hold her in such a high regard?
He had also suppressed those memories of her molesting him so all he remembered was her bringing him presents.

Anonymous asked: you explaining the epilog to the book helped me understand it better. I wasn't sure at first but your explanation helped.

Okay so that we can finish the whole debate on whether Aunt Helen molested Charlie or not I’m going to pull out a few quotes right from the book so that you guys can see it’s not something half of us read and made up.
“She was so beautiful. She took my hand and slid it under her pants. And I touched her. And I just couldn’t believe it. It was like everything made sense....

Anonymous asked: I'm pretty sure that Charlie was not molested by his Aunt Helen. But she was molested by someone that she loved. Which is why she lived with Charlies family, and is why she would cry when Charlie asked her what was wrong.

thisjulychild asked: I was also a very sheltered kid. I still am, and I just finished my first semester of college. I'm also very sentimental, affectionate, and a wallflower. Charlie did, in fact, make me feel less alone, that I wasn't as misunderstood as I thought. This book made me believe that I will have that "infinite" moment in my life, and I will overcome any and all of my internal...

Anonymous asked: I do love this book, so do not take this aggressively or anything; but what is it that makes perks such a life-changing book? I see lots of other people who write in and say it's saved their lives, and having not been in that situation myself, I just want to know what makes it so special? Please do no take this the wrong way. It is beautiful.
