Don’t worry I definitely don’t take this the wrong way. But what makes the books so special is different for everyone. You’d have to ask a bunch of different people why it was specifically life changing for them. The reason I, personally, love it so much is because I haven’t been through more than half the shit Charlie went through, I grew up in a very very sheltered environment yet somehow I found Charlie extremely relatable, in the smallest ways but I could still so easily relate to him. Plus all the characters interested me as did the whole journey of that one year. It’s just a great perspective on life and some of the things he says are just touching, the book makes you feel less alone. Well it did for me. But as I said I can only share my own experience with the book.
