So Summit relased info today on the release date:

THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER will open on September 14, 2012 in limited release, from Summit Entertainment.

Cast: Logan Lerman, Emma Watson, Ezra Miller, Mae Whitman, Kate Walsh, Dylan McDermott, Nina Dobrev, Paul Rudd

Director: Stephen Chbosky

Screenwriter: Stephen Chbosky

Genre: Drama, Comedy

Synopsis: A funny and touching coming-of-age story based on the beloved best-selling novel by Stephen Chbosky, THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER is a modern classic that captures the dizzying highs and crushing lows of growing up. Starring Logan Lerman, Emma Watson and Ezra Miller, THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER is a moving tale of love, loss, fear and hope—and the unforgettable friends that help us through life.

I’m not sure how limited this release will be or if they’ll have a wider release later on (maybe the 21st like IMDB said?). When I hear anything more I’ll be sure to share

It is the release date set on IMDB but Summit has made no comment on it so in my opinion it’s still not a confirmed release date.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower Stills

Reblogging since I was asked to give my opinion on what scenes the screencaps were from:

This one is obviously set in school. I’m thinking towards the beginning of the movie, maybe his first meeting with Bill.
Sam and Charlie at The Big Boy, Sam seems to be wearing a Letterman Jacket so maybe towards the beginning of the movie during football season when they first start hanging out.
Christmas Party
Party where Charlie kisses Sam instead of his girlfriend Mary Elizabeth (very much looking forward to this ha)
I don’t think this was in the books ever honestly. So I’m guessing it’s and added scene between Sam and Charlie in the library..or maybe a scene that took place elsewhere in the book and in the movie will take place in the library.
Charlie at school, again I believe this to be at the beginning of the movie before he meets Patrick and Sam since he’s kinda lonely.
The ever anticipated first kiss for Charlie scene. This is the ‘Write about me sometime’ ‘I will.’ scene. If you look at a HQ of this pic you can actually see that written out in the typewriter. I’m very excited for this scene.
