Release Date News 

So Summit relased info today on the release date:

THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER will open on September 14, 2012 in limited release, from Summit Entertainment.

Cast: Logan Lerman, Emma Watson, Ezra Miller, Mae Whitman, Kate Walsh, Dylan McDermott, Nina Dobrev, Paul Rudd

Director: Stephen Chbosky

Screenwriter: Stephen Chbosky

Genre: Drama, Comedy

Synopsis: A funny and touching coming-of-age story based on the beloved best-selling novel by Stephen Chbosky, THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER is a modern classic that captures the dizzying highs and crushing lows of growing up. Starring Logan Lerman, Emma Watson and Ezra Miller, THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER is a moving tale of love, loss, fear and hope—and the unforgettable friends that help us through life.

I’m not sure how limited this release will be or if they’ll have a wider release later on (maybe the 21st like IMDB said?). When I hear anything more I’ll be sure to share


So this is an MTV Movie Awards commercial announcing the actors and actresses who will be making appearances at the show and 13 seconds in they announce Emma Watson and show a .7 second clip of her as Sam. It’s extremely short but still made me quite giddy to be able to see something! Enjoy!

Not really Perks news but since we are lacking in that department I thought I’d update with a picture of Emma at the Sons of an Illustrious Father concert last night in which her costar Ezra Miller is the drummer. It’s nice to see the cast supporting each other. (x)

Hey guys, updating from my phone real quick. I’m sure most of you know since I’m a couple days late but for those that haven’t heard, there was another screening of Perks this Monday (or maybe it was Tuesday, I’m not certain). Here is a tweet from Derek Blasberg about it. Emma’s best friend Sophie Sumner also attended the screening (so its possible that Emma saw it as well) and she said that she can’t wait for us to see it. So hopefully after a good response for this screening as well they’ll finally get around to giving us a trailer!

IMDB has posted September 21st as “Perks’” release date. I haven’t seen this confirmed anywhere else, and IMDB has been wrong before, but either way it’s news and hopefully this will be the release date.


MPAA grants “Perks of Being a Wallflower” PG-13 rating 

LOS ANGELES, March 8 (TheWrap.com) - “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” is now rated PG-13, rather than R, the Classification and Rating Appeals Board of the MPAA ruled Thursday. (x)
